Why did you start your business?
I’m starting to think about retirement and realized that I’m not ready to give up working entirely.
How has this business changed your life?
I’ve always wanted to own my own business and Sunset Gourmet has given me the opportunity to do
just that.
What goals have you accomplished?
I’ve been able to take my sales and training background to help me build a great and successful team.
Tell us about yourself
My background is in sales and training in the cosmetic industry, I love to cook and thought if I was going
to start y own business how could I combine the two? The answer? Sunset Gourmet!
What advice would you give others who thinking about starting a business as an Independent
Consultant?
Take the plunge, believe in yourself and start making money for yourself rather then making some
company rich. In every company it is the front line sales people that make every company successful,
so start paying yourself rather then some corporation.
How did you start out?
I found a product that I loved and something I love doing (cooking and teaching), I put the two together
and now I get to show people how easy cooking and entertaining can be and how they can do it too.
How did you feel when you did your first party? How did it go?
I was nervous, everyone is; but you just have to remember the women who invite you to their homes
want you there, they invited you, they are looking for entertainment and want to learn about your product.
What new goals do you have now?
I want to be a team director and show as many people as I can how they can build their own business
and become as successful as they want to be.
Did you ever feel like giving up the business? What stopped you?
No, I decided to ease into this business, I recognize that it takes time to build a client list and
consultant base and that it takes work, time, and patience. Nothing comes to those that just sit back
and wait.
What is the best thing about having your own business?
Having the choice to work as much or as little as you want, setting your own hours and enjoying all the
rewards and incentives the company has to offer,
